Charlotte update...

Hi all, I know it's been a while since I've updated the blog with anything, let alone pictures and the goings on with our little miracle... well, she's home!! It's been a nutty ride to get to this point, we went from all hoses and wires disconnected, eating from a bottle every feed on Saturday morning (before the mighty USC Trojans faced the Idaho Vandals, which we were fortunate enough to go to) to having all of her tubes put back into place, stopping all feeds and actually starting her on IV fluids, all because a resident decided not to fully read her chart.

Needless to say, we were a little chapped and Jess gave the resident an amazing talking to, not sure how much she actually heard. Jess stopped a couple times and had dead silence, had to say, "hello?" and then a few seconds later, she would respond. When all was said and done, the resident skipped out at the end of our meeting (held at 2am in the morning, until 3) and everything that Jess said, was held up as true. It was the last in a long chain of events of similar things, feeding tube in, taken out, in, out... So we fed her and finally left the hospital at 5 in the morning, and then I helped my friend Kelly shoot a wedding that night. So needless to say, it's been crazy!

But she came home on September 4th, a full month early from her due date! We've had her home and it's been wonderful! We aren't getting much sleep, Jess is getting much less than I, but I'm hoping to take some time off work soon to help her out. Our family has been amazing, specifically my sister Lisa and my Mom, Lisa gave us a break to let us catch up on some sleep, which was greatly appreciated! But our little beauty is home, looking cute as ever, smiling more, grunting a lot more, and getting cute little cheeks! So here are a few pictures of our perfect little princess, taken with my workhorse lens, the 50/1.4 with a newly purchased extension tube (3 of various sizes, a cheaper option than a macro lens, and so much fun!!)

Thank you all for your prayers and support through this, we're certainly not out of the woods yet, but we're so thankful for everyone!!

And now, our perfect girl...

We would watch this monitor endlessly, it would ding letting us know she was desatting or bradying... which happened a lot during or around her feeds.

The awesome hat that Sheila made for Charlie, who we lovingly called Pip (Parris in Production) before we knew she was Charlie :D

Look at those eyes! She see's the bottle :D

I love this series of close ups on our little girl... she's so precious!!

Ready for game day, notice the USC socks... it's huge on her, so cute though!

We're all ready for game day... Fight On!

I love this picture of Jess! I used my smallest extension tube, shot it on JPG (I usually shoot raw) and then did some color desaturation and increased contrast to it. I love the way it turned out, and of course, it helps when you have the hottest model around!! I love you sweetheart!

Notice she's in my hat... more from that mini photo shoot soon (thank you Amanda & Marilyn!)

Her first official ride in her car seat, on her way home!

She loves getting her hair washed, this was her first bath at home...

I love these next two, she's so precious!!

Her asleep on my lap, with her perfect hands crossed...

That's all for now, I still need to post pictures from the amazing wedding I had the chance to help Kelly out with, and then get caught up on a lot of other projects. Now that our sweet girl is home, I really do think there will be more time, we won't have to be going to the hospital all the time now, just getting up every 3 hours to feed her :D But it's so worth it...

We love you all!

Will, Jess & Charlie

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the new pictures of Charlie! I talked to Grandma the other day after the baby shower and she was telling me how wonderful it was and how adorable Charlie is. I have to admit that I was feeling a little down about missing out on the shower, but your pictures were just the pick-me-up I needed. Charlie is absolutely precious!!!(Her parents are pretty wonderful, too).
Love to you all!
