PS: Danielle & Grant

This last Saturday, December 29th, was a pretty special day for me. I had the privilege of shooting my brother in law's wedding. Don't get me wrong, it was an honor to be able to capture another beautiful PS: Bride in Danielle, who is a wonderful woman and it has been a great pleasure for us to get to know her better. but I've known the Groom for a while now.

I've known Grant going on 13 years now, since he was about up to my sternum... fast forward to now, and he's returned the favor, I'm about up to his sternum :D Slight exaggeration, but not by much. Not only have I been able to witness Grant getting taller, but I've also been able to witness Grant growing up to be a fine young man as well. He comes from an amazing family, all of whom I love (especially his sister, or my wife)... and it was a day after Scott & Brynne's 5 year anniversary (my other bro-in-law, or BiL as I just now made up) and Marty & Diane's 37th anniversary (my FiL & MiL), and a whole lot of our extended family were there too! It really was an amazing and fun day, and I was an honored that I could do this for them.

I had some wonderful help, Tana Huffman of Tana Huffman Photography came down to help me capture this wonderful day, and I am so thankful for Tana and her wonderful eye!

I'll post a few favorites, but the rest will be in the slideshow and of course, feel free to go to the Pictage event #410655 (or click HERE to sign up when the pictures are released). And be sure to check out the slideshow that Ron Burt created (Danielle's BiL), you might notice some shots from their engagement sessions, and an awesome one that Ron created to look 3D, very cool! Click HERE for that slideshow... great job Ron, and ditto with the mini-van ;) Last and certainly not least, Danielle's wonderful hair was done by Dominique O'Brien from Adora Bella, she did a wonderful job!

My favorites...

A tribute to American Gothic, and Jeff Newsom, and if you don't know who Jeff is, check out his work, AMAZING! He's located on the central coast, and I actually had the honor of meeting him once at our friend Kris' wedding. Great guy and an amazing artist, truly inspiring!

one of my favorite guys shots ever...

A family portrait :D Tana got a real one, which I'm thankful for and I know my wife is! Notice our little cracker (sorry Diane :D) in the white dress, so cute!

These last two I just love, them spending a few moments alone without anyone knowing what they're saying...

and the wind blowing the veil... love it!

Slideshow: With mad props to the amazing jumpers, you all got some crazy air (and I do mean all of you!)

Thanks again to the amazing Young and Davis family, to the totally wicked wedding party (you guys were a blast to work with), and to the wonderful Tana. It was a blast, ALOHA!

Danielle & Grant: Engagement Part Two

Before Danielle headed back up north, we decided to get a few more pictures around the area. It wasn't as warms as it was yesterday, but you could still feel the warmth between these two! Here are a few of my favorites from the day, a little reversal of one of yesterday's favorites and one that is a little different that I love the more I look at it! It's a little different than my other images, but I think it works really well here! Grant & Danielle, thanks for letting me capture you today, I hope you love 'em!

This is one of my favorites from the day...

Danielle & Grant: Engagement Shoot

I know, wasn't there just something on here about Danielle & Grant? Yup, but he's my brother in law and of course after the proposal, they're going to need "official" engagment shots, so I'm happy to oblige...

The spot, Fullerton Arboretum, the mission, take some amazing shots before it closed in 45 minutes but make it not seem rushed. Well, we got some amazing shots and the weather was perfect at just the right time (God, thank you for that!). These two are extremely photogenic and have such a great chemistry together! I'm so excited to shoot the wedding in December, and not just because he's my family, but because they are both genuinely wonderful people!!

Thank you two for letting me have this honor! From rogue bee's, to baseballs over the fence, from slippery tree's to possibly being "locked in"... I had a blast being there today with you two!! See you in the morning!

Danielle & Grant: Surprise...

So this is one of the coolest things yet... Grant proposed to Danielle today at Corona Del Mar, and I was able to be there to capture it!! Grant was kind enough to let me "stalkerattzi" the actual proposal along with video that was taken by Matt Dietz (you'll see him taking video behind them). Well, in case you were curious, she said yes... and they had an audience of about 30 people to watch the proposal, it was great!! So to all our families in NorCal and Utah, I hope this helps tell the story, we'll have a slideshow up in a bit to tell more of it. Welcome to the family Danielle!

Danielle & Grant: Just cause...

So the last weekend in February, Danielle, Grant's girlfriend, was down here from NorCal and we all went to Disneyland for some joyous rides and delicious churros! We never did end up getting churros, but still, it was a blast to be there with Danielle & Grant. They are both great people, and I'm proud to call Grant my brother in law and my friend! Side note: The music on Space & California Screamin' are AWESOME!! It's like a whole new ride, so much fun!!

Anyways, being me, I thought I'd bring along my camera and shoot some pictures of them, because I really like to annoy my brother-in-law (yup, you too Scott! :D) and I thought they needed some more pictures together. Again, just cause and I love the chance to shoot pictures anywhere... So after following them around on Space Mountain and just walking, I figured it was time for some set locations...

I love the Tomorrowland pictures, I think they're outfits went perfect with that locale and of course you can't go wrong with the Castle. They were both a little embarrassed that people were looking at them when we were at the Tomorrowland location, but they did just fine and I like to think it was worth it.

Anyways, here's a few pictures from the day, and one that's not, but I figured it help to tell the story just fine...

Thanks kids for putting up with the snap happy guy following you!!

Aloha!!
