I know it's been a while since I've done a post, but I've been working like crazy (and trying to make my daughter smile, more pictures from that soon!).
This last Sunday, I had the distinct pleasure of doing a multiple family shoot down in Mission Viejo, and it was so much fun!! I had my amazing wife, amazing daughter and my amazing college roommate helping me (a lot of amazing on this day). The pictures are being presented in slideshow form since there are so many wonderful pictures!
First up were Jad and Michelle with their son Jacob and golden retrievers Cooper and Dusty. Jacob was so adorable, and of course his parents and furry friends were too, but that sounds a little odd to say don't you think, adorable parents? Jacob had an awesome Halloween costume, complete with matching shoes, so cute! It was such a beautiful day, slightly overcast, green grass, beautiful people, all great recipe's for amazing pictures! Without further ado...
Next were Paul and Ashley with their son Zach and furry friend Evie. Ashely was our friend in college and roommates with Jess for 2 years. As you can see, they love our school just as much as we do! And, Zach is going to be a big brother soon too! We love these guys and are honored to have them as friends!
And finally, Bret and Paige, with their son and daughter Keaton and Emerson. These are friends of the Powell's and were so funny! Keaton was an active little man, and it was a blast trying to capture a family shot with all of them! Emerson was so adorable too, doing the army crawl and just grinning the whole time!
A big thank you to all the families who came out, it was truly an honor to capture you all together and just see the love the exuding from all of you!

PS: Heather & Jake's wedding
It was a beautiful, sunshine filled day in Riverside. A gorgeous church with wonderful colors and stone work, Scottish tradition (with bagpiper and kilt), and wonderful people! All ingredients for an amazing wedding, and it was! I had the pleasure of my friend Suzanne coming along to work along side me, she took care of the boys, while I was with the girls. I will have a slideshow with more pictures up shortly, but here are a few of the favorites from the day. Heather & Jake, thank you for being such a wonderful couple to work with (and same to all of those involved in the wedding)! Enjoy the cruise!!
They were a fun bunch, Suzanne got this great fun shot...
Seriously, check out these archways and the water... great job Suzanne!
Two ring shots, this is one that Suzanne did that I really like. The rings are on two reeds that were used in some of the gorgeous centerpieces...
love this one, the ink and the dress...
Us running upstairs to get some quick pics before more people arrived. It was pretty great, all the bridesmaids made a running curtain so she could dart with minimal seen time...
There was a great green door just on the other side of the fence at the church, and we eyed that as soon as we pulled into the parking lot. It was so great, and it is part of a few of my favorites...
My absolute favorite of the day, such a great look!
Awesome...
This is close to my favorite, I love the texture, look and color. The rings are just sitting on top of a table that was outside the reception. Love it though...
More to come soon...

Heather & Jacob: Beach session
Heather & Jacob wanted to do some shots at the beach, so we went down to Laguna and did a quick shoot there late in the afternoon this last Sunday. Laguna is so pretty and it was such a beautiful day out, needless to say, it was a blast! We were able to get some really great shots of them playing in the water, hanging out with each other and just being them. Did you know that Laguna has a great red phone booth? I didn't either until we were looking for a place to eat... it was so much fun! And did you know that sea anemones spit water at you if you try to pull them out of the sand? Ask Jacob... It was great to hang out with Heather & Jacob again and enjoy Laguna! I hope you enjoy the pictures we made that day!
Aloha & God bless!

Heather & Jacob: Engagement shoot
I had the distinct pleasure of going out to Riverside today to shoot the engagement pictures for Heather & Jacob, and it was so much fun! We started the day out at the church where they met in Rialto (Sunrise Church) and shot quite a few there on the playground, the softball field where they met and Jacob was oh so smooth with his technique... Let me just say, pouring water / ice on a girl your interested in before your first date - GENIUS!
Heather is a student at UCR, so we went to the campus and took some shots around campus, near a GINORMOUS clock tower, archways and in the library. And the library was fun too, a little too quiet (shocking I know) but it was a lot of fun in there!!
It was great to see the two love birds just being themselves and enjoying each others company! They were really great together and so funny! There are a few great shots of them just hamming it up for the camera. Pulling off the GQ look with the sunglasses, singing tv showtunes and playing celebrity... it was a lot of fun and educational too! I did learn one thing that's very important though. If you're shooting in Riverside on a nice, sunny day... bring sunscreen! Woops! My arms are toast, but the toasting was well worth it!!
Heather & Jacob, thank you so much for letting me shoot the pictures today, I had a wonderful time and the pictures look great!! I can't wait for you to see them! Until then, enjoy the preview...
Have a wonderful weekend & God bless!

So those who visit my website, know I have a blog already, but this is the new and hopefully improved blog. I'm still working out a few kinks, but things will be up and running here shortly. And hopefully, I'll be able to post more often than I have been.
Just to catch everyone up real quick, I am shooting the engagement session for Alissa and Eric this weekend which I'm UBER excited about! Alissa is hilarious and a great singer (she and her sister were co-leaders at our VBS in 2005 and they did a wonderful job. Her and Eric met through their band, she was the lead singer, he was the lead guitarist. So between riffs and hi notes, love started to blossom... I'll post some of the pictures from their shoot this weekend, did I mention I'm excited about doing the shoot?
I also met with Heather & Jacob on Friday and we discussed their wedding in July, which I have the distinct pleasure of doing. They are a great couple and have such a strong foundation. Jess and I had the pleasure of meeting with them to discuss pictures and just get to know them a little bit more and it was a blast! We're going to be planning their engagement shoot here shortly, which is going to be so much fun! And, Heather's mom, Teresa, was nice enough to come out and say hello too!
That's the update as of now, I will have more here shortly, but my beautiful wife has turned in and I should do the same. It's an early day tomorrow, so no snoozing for me... so sad!
Oh, and one sad note... the Ducks lost tonight in overtime. It was our first game in a while and wouldn't you know it, they welcome us back with a big ol L. I can't wait to put up pictures from this weekend a few others I've been jonesin' to get up. If you have any questios or comments, feel free to send 'em on over or leave the comments here! Until then, aloha & God bless!
