: CHOC Walk 2008

CHOC Walk - 2, originally uploaded by Parris Studios:.

10.19.08
Disneyland

This last Sunday, Jess, Charlie, Lisa and I got up at 5am... ouch. But it was all worth it! This is something that will be a tradition for us from now on, going and doing the CHOC walk as a thank you to our Dr's at CHOC who helped give us the little miracle of our Charlotte Jean Parris. It was a great time, even though it was WAY too early :) I highly recommend it for all, and next year, we'll be doing a Team Charlie for all who'd like to walk with us. It does offer some opportunities for some amazing shots... so of course, you can't pass that up!

Here are just a few...

Crossing the finish line at Downtown Disney right about the time Charlie had about enough and decided it was meltdown time. Woo. She did great though all day!

CHOC Walk - 9

And then of course, I wanted to do a few more of her Castle pics, minus the hat. I love her smile in these!

: Monterey trip

Monterey001, originally uploaded by Parris Studios:.

I'm sure there will be more later, but I'm including some of my favorites and then a slideshow of some more of my favorites, so many great pictures and great stories, it was an absolute blast! I nabbed the above picture on the way up, I loved the hills with the yellow and the amazing tree, took a gamble at 70 mph and I LOVE how it turned out!!

From the "EEEEE" of Jess in pictures (that was passed on to all of us) to the great Hot Mess debate to the little kid you'll see walking up a sandy hill. This was after the little man was going absolutely NUTS screaming "I want my swim trunks!" and then proceeding to throw his shoes and socks in the ocean. It was a pretty phenomenal tantrum to say the least!!

This was an AMAZING spot, chairs just sitting out in the river, the cold, COLD, COOOOLD river, but it was so perfect!! So I had to grab a couple of pics of the peeps...
Monterey012

A Belly pic in the frigid water (she was sitting of course)...
Monterey016

A shame they don't love each other so much (said with ExTREME sarcasm!)
Monterey015

Stevenson house, which had a beautiful garden and a creepy upstairs that's supposed to be haunted. Of course, that area is roped off and it did feel a little chilly right there... weird!
Monterey028

A lot of favorites in this series...
Monterey030

Monterey034

This is one of my absolute favorite shots ever, just love it!!
Monterey035

Right before we got in the car to head home after a phenomenal weekend!!
Monterey043

Here's the slideshow, you'll notice some great shots of Jess at the Aquarium and a great close up of her and a lot of other general awesomeness! Give it a second to load all the way and then enjoy! Aloha!

: We're back!

It was a phenomenal trip with wonderful people and a wonderful location - the journey and destination rocked! I'm importing the pictures now, but there were a lot of fun and awesome pictures and thanks to Sarah, Jude and of course, my lovely wife for all my "oooh", and just rapid firing moments! We are home now though, our beautiful daughter is in her room sleeping like the little cherub she is and we're trying to get everything set so we can go to bed too - worn OUT!

Pictures coming soon, but until then -

EEEEEEEEE!
Hot mess.
I want my swim trunks!!

All great stories, probably to us, and my horrible verbal communication of that will be tested... Jude & Sarah, thank you, it was an absolute honor to go with you, you two are truly amazing and wonderful people! Joshua is lucky to have such wonderful parents!!

Aloha & good NIGHT!

Parris Family pictures

Hello all, I know I have been slacking HUGELY on the posting of Charlie pics, and I thought I would pass along a great link to help with your "fix" :D

Our friend and amazing photographer Sandra Salisbury (click her name to visit her blog) came over and took some family pictures for us this weekend, for which I am extremely grateful! She did an amazing job and has a wonderful slideshow on her blog that you really must check out! Please visit her blog, check out her post (which was extremely sweet, thank you Sandie!) and see how our little girl has grown in almost 4 months.

No longer the 2 and half pounder, she's almost into double digits! 9 and probably by now, a little over 8 ounces. And she did her first giggle / laugh yesterday, I wish I could play that sound for everyone, but it was the sweetest little sound I've heard! And she's smiling so big now, that's our favorite past time right now, getting our baby girl to smile, just melts your heart and has put us even more around her little finger... if that's possible!

Thank you Sandie, our whole family thanks you, and that includes our family in Idaho, Utah, NorCal... everywhere! Mahalo nui loa from the bottom of our hearts!

PS: Jessica & Joaquin wedding

"Hey guys, we're married!!!" Joaquin yelled out during their first dance. They were both excited the day was finally here! These two have a deep love, and just like the Alissa said in her toast, you can tell. The way that they look at each other, Jessica smiles every time Joaquin starts to speak, or makes up new word, or tells her how beautiful she is.

Jessica and Joaquin officially tied the knot Saturday, and it was a fantastic wedding! From the getting ready location (Mr. & Mrs. Martin, LOVED the house!), the church, the reception, and the food... oh the food, those taco's were some of the best I've ever had, I smile just thinking of them!

They decided to see each other before the wedding, which was great, gave us plenty of time for some fun around the house! Plenty of laughing, great location and amazing people... all great recipes for wonderful pictures!

Congratulations Jessica & Joaquin, it was a pleasure and an honor to capture your wedding! And I would like to say a big thank you to Sandra, from Sandra Salisbury Photography for coming out to help me! It was great to finally meet and work with her! These first three photo's are from her, and what great photo's they are! Really, I have a lot of pictures I'd like to put up here... I'll have to get the slideshow going here shortly.

I love this one! Great job Sandie!!

Mrs. Martin helping the guys out with the flowers, she was a pro!

This is Alissa, she was the maid of honor and is getting married on Sunday... and I'll be shooting that one too, I can't wait! Thanks for the referral Alissa!!

I love the jumping pictures, so much fun!! Great air everyone, very impressive!!

This is my favorite of the day, great flowers, great necklace, great tie, great dress... just love it!

Going strong!

No pictures yet, still moving and prepping for my second craziest time of year (which was going to be the first craziest time, until of course little Charlotte decided she wanted to come and play early), but I will have some of our little sweetheart and the house shortly. She is so cute, little smiles already, a good strong grip and she's been referred to by all her nurses as "feisty"... love it! She has also been referred to as the NICU superstar, doing far better than they even expected. We couldn't be more proud of her and thankful for all your prayers!

They just up'd her feedings today and she's been responding well to them so far, we're still praying that she'll continue to be the little superstar and come home early. We figure she wasn't in a rush to stay at the hospital, she wanted to come and see her new room! So she is doing great and we're getting to spend some awesome time with her, holding her and just loving on the littlest Parris...

Speaking of the house, the move this weekend went SO AWESOME! We want to thank everyone that came to help, and all those who offered as well! We were truly blessed by all of you, we were moved out of our old place in 90 minutes!! CRAZY! Then a lot of people helped us get everything in order in the new place, which was a tremendous help!! I can't say it enough, thank you so much, it really is overwhelming to think about all the support people have given us the last week... So from the bottom of all our hearts, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! I'll have pictures up of Charlotte, the new house and then pictures from Heather & Jakes wedding this weekend!!

Mahalo again to everyone for your prayers and support, please continue to pray for strength and recovery for both Jess and Charlotte... my girls, I'm so proud of both of you!!

A little update...

Hi all!

Just wanted to give you an update, Mom & Charlotte are doing great! Jess is off her IV's and is walking around, sore, but I'm pretty certain that's to be expected :) Jess even got to hold the little sweetheart today too! She is continuing to recover and will hopefully get a little more rest now. It was so wonderful to see Jess comforting Charlotte when she was getting shots, or just telling her she loved her... she's such a great Mom already, and Charlotte is one lucky girl to have her as a Mom!

Speaking of Charlotte, girl has some lungs on her! She was moved from the mask breathing apparatus to the little nose hose (fun to say) tonight when we were there. It's so nice to see her beautiful little face without the mask on... She doesn't like shots, who does though, and she lets the nurses know about it. Very opinionated and feisty, absolutely our little girl! She is doing very well though, and all the nurses are taking great care of her. She's eating, which is great, and we are praying it will continue. I'll have some pictures up of the crazy time leading up to the c-section, moments after and then from the first two days shortly... but things are a bit nutty!

For those who don't know, we just got back from a wonderful week in Maui (so pretty!) so I have pictures from then to put up. But this week was supposed to be dedicated to packing as we bought a house in La Habra! So... VBS, Maui, Charlie, moving, all in a pretty quick time frame. I'll have pictures of the new house (that was my big news, trumped by the most beautiful little girl) soon, but we're moving in on Saturday and Sunday.

I also really want to thank everyone too for their prayers, comments, emails, text's, phone calls... everything! We have an amazing support system that just went to it, my head is still spinning with the recent events, but there has been an amazing team of people who are helping out and have come through so huge for us in support and love! I just want to thank all of you for your help from the bottom of our hearts, Jess, Charlie and I are so blessed by your friendship! We love you all and thank you again for all your prayers and support and help.

I'm going to get some sleep, after I clean the computer area a bit that is :) 1 am already... time is flying entirely too fast... Seriously, we love you all and be sure to keep checking back for an update on our most precious little addition. I think I get to hold her tomorrow, very exciting!! Oh, and she does have my ears, I'm sure it will be said sooner or later, so I'll try and beat people to the punch, but my ears are about as big as Charlotte's... and I love it!! :D Good night all, and thanks again from the Parris family!

Aloha & God bless,

Jess, Charlotte and Will

PS: Pip and Jess update...

I am pleased to announce that as of 7:28 pm this evening (July 18th, 2007) our first child was brought into the world, Charlotte Jean Parris... formerly known as Pip. It's not according to how we would have liked, but I am so happy to report that both of the ladies are doing fine and healthy! Charlie (what we'll call her) was 2 lbs 8 oz and 14.5 inches long, and she's beautiful (just like her mom!).

We're grateful for all the doctors at CHOC and St. Joe's, they did a wonderful job with the two most important things in my life! Thank you for all the prayers, we just ask that you continue to pray for Jess and Charlotte for a speedy recovery and continued growth and health. Charlie is doing wonderful and is a little fighter already... again, just like her mom, and we love it! Jess is recovering wonderfully and will be able to go and see our little miracle tomorrow.

Here are a few pictures I was able to get off the camera, I don't have all my gear here since Jess was transferred to about 4 rooms today, but that is a story for another post... all that matters though is our beautiful daughter is here and healthy and Jess is doing wonderful and on a quick road to recovery!

So Jess, if you're reading this (and it would be a miracle with no wireless and no other way to check) I love you so very much, and I'm so proud of you! You are going to make the best mom, not to mention how incredibly beautiful you are... I truly am the luckiest man in the world to be your husband!

Charlotte... I've only known you for about 5 and half hours and I love you so much too! You're a little fighter, a lot stubborn, and a whole mess of trouble already, but mom and I love you so much and we can't wait to see you again. Your mom and I are incredibly blessed to be your parents, we love you with all our hearts!

Family and friends, here are a few quick pictures of our baby girl, Charlotte Jean...

Aloha and God bless!!

Beautiful little hands...

The little monitor on her foot...

Our big girl all stretched out (and she twitches in her sleep like her dad :D )

One of my favorites, that's Charlotte holding on to my index finger... daddy's little girl... so beautiful!

Prayers for the family

We have been in the hospital since yesterday, and i'm blogging from my charging phone. Jess' water broke yesterday morning, which ideally would have happened in 3 months, not now. As much as Jess hates it, it looks to be an incompetent cervix, so when we have the next trouble maker, she can get stitched (sounds like a hoot) and then we should be able to avoid this situation next time.

But the good news is that Mom and Pip are doing well, we just need prayer that Pip stays in as long as possible (they're hoping for 6 weeks, which will be rough) and prayer for Jess not to go stir crazy and be as comfortable as possible.

i have the camera now and will be working on some past projects and documenting this crazy journey as much as i can while still supporting my beautiful wife and our little one to be, who's cute as a button and as stubborn as us. That's going to be a good thing right now, it'll just be rough down the line... and we're looking forward to it with great expectations! :)

aloha to all and thanks for the prayers, i'll keep everyone updated on the status of the family.

PS: Jessica & Joaquin engagement session

I met with Jessica & Joaquin this evening at Tri City park. They were kind enough to come down this way because the church plays volleyball on Tuesday nights, so I was able to get a quick game in and get the creative juices flowing... Jessica & Joaquin are so great! Joaquin loves to make up words and the two have such a great energy. So we walked around a few of the places, watched crazy ducks chase after people (no lie), smelled some "tastey" smells and most importantly, laughed. J&J, I'm so looking forward to the food... it's gonna be bomb-a-licious!

Love the flare on this shot! I heart the 85/1.2!!

A close runner up...

This is just fun to me!

My favorite from the day... the look, the feeling... awesome!
